El primer álbum de Alejandro Elizondo, AXIS, después de sus dos EPs, Pulso (reseña-U01) y Luz (reseña-U01), representa un recorrido que incursiona en estilos tan distintos como el ambient y el minimal techno. Detenta la madurez y la experiencia de alguien que ha trabajado a profundidad en el mundo del audio y la producción de música, con proyectos como Los Mundos, Plantamos y Soona.

Su labor como ingeniero de audio en Las Dunas Studio, donde produjo este disco, le da un carácter sólido, con una producción detallista y apasionada. Decididamente de factura electrónica, Elizondo explora distintas sonoridades y recursos instrumentales en síntesis modular y hardware.

AXIS se compone de 8 espléndidos tracks que discurren entre la contemplación introspectiva, en un tapiz sonoro que discurre entre texturas y tratamientos instrumentales envolventes.

El tema “Coincidencia de la geometría” es un formidable correlato que abre con un grueso sintetizador, para dar paso a un paisaje rítmico con brillantes melodías que se entreveran en una tonalidad casi marcial espacial. 

El tercer track, “Espejos”, es uno de los varios temas rítmicos del álbum, que abre con una líneas de bajo limpia y fresca, que da cuerpo a un tema de texturas y efectos en sintetizador de pinceladas suaves y trazos rugosos, que le confiere una personalidad única que invita a moverse.

“México 85” es una de las piezas sobresalientes, con una rítmica de percusiones suaves y efectos barridos de sintetizador modular, texturas y loops de sintetizador en una espiral drónica que atrapa como un viaje en el tiempo.

Le sigue una pieza anticlimática, que marca el estilo del resto de los tracks de este trabajo, “Algunos momentos duran para siempre”, con piano y cuerdas, en un tono elegíaco y profundo, con un finísimo tratamiento electrónico. Transita con naturalidad al siguiente corte, “Fantasmas en mi vida”, bellísima pieza, en clave modern classical, con cuerdas protagónicas contrapunteadas al piano con prístina gravedad y gozosos pizzicatos, ejecutadas magistralmente por la violinista Bianca Villarreal.

El tema que titula el disco, “Axis”, es un corte breve y delicioso, con un dubbing impecable, que configura un minimal orgánico de gran calidad, que acompaña el sintetizador con sutiles tratamientos electrónicos y una rítmica suave.

El mejor cierre posible en de este primer LP del artista nacido en Monterrey, el tema “El centro”, redondea el concepto del álbum, que rinde un piano flotante, entre atmósferas sintéticas envolventes, que transportan a una etérea atmósfera introspectiva.

Este primer álbum de Alejandro Elizondo confirma la alta factura musical en su horizonte creativo, y seguramente nos sorprenderá con sus próximas entregas.
